The United Federation for Middle East Peace (“UFMEP”), in collaboration with the International Muslim Youth Organization, hosted an International Peace Forum in honor of the United Nations International Peace Day held annually on September 21. The conference was held in Cairo, Egypt with cooperation from the Egyptian government. The conference was attended by various scholars, religious leaders, organization leaders, UN representatives including ambassadors and diplomats, presidents of major Egyptian universities and government officials.
UFMEP President Sally (“Salwa”) Kader initiated discussions with the participants of the conference on ways to overcome the lack of trust and understanding between the different cultures and religious groups in the world. Through these discussions, participants helped formulate principles for creating harmony and outlined actions to develop collective attitudes toward peace.
