April 25, 2012 – U.S. Federation for Middle East Peace (“UFMEP”) hosted, for the second time, a Model United Nations event for students from the world-renowned Montessori schools in the UN Headquarters in New York City. The Montessori schools have developed a unique approach to education which has been recognized and celebrated throughout the world. UFMEP welcomed outstanding students from these schools in order to introduce them to and educate them on the procedures of the United Nations.
The event, hosted by UFMEP President Salwa Kader, was a great success and brought together over 2,000 people from countries all around the world including the United States, Canada, Chile, Norway, Nigeria, China, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Pakistan, and the Virgin Islands.
As an organization working towards youth empowerment, USFMEP believes that we should educate the youth since they are our future leaders and our hope for a peaceful world. We hope that investments in youth education will benefit future generations in pursuit of this goal.
