UFMEP President, Mrs. Salwa Kader, and First Vice President with the International Delegation participated with Muslim and Christian youth organizations in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt in an international peace walk. The walk was held under the auspices of the Minister of Youth, Dr. Mamdouh El-Beltagui, and the Governor of the Sinai region, Major General Mr. Mostafa Afifi. The purpose of the peace walk was to sponsor the International Year of Sport and Physical Education, which provides a unique opportunity to focus the world’s attention on the importance of sport and physical education programmers in promoting peace. UFMEP further adopted a proposal to change national policy, advising national governments on the techniques that may be exploited to reap the benefits of sport activities for peace-building, socio-economic development and health.
