The fifty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women (“CSW”) will
take place from March 4-15, 2013 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York
City. The priority theme for the fifty-seventh session will be the “Elimination
and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls.” The review
theme will be “The equal sharing of responsibilities between women and men,
including caregiving in the context of HIV/AIDS.” U.S. Federation for Middle
East Peace (“USFMEP”) President Salwa Kader has hosted and moderated several
side events, in the past, focusing on a number of critical topics including:
human trafficking in the 21st Century, violence against working mothers, the
role of women in the political realm, the link between peace building and the
media and interfaith dialogue.
