U.S. Federation for Middle East Peace (“UFMEP”) held a panel discussion on the “Gaza Humanitarian Crisis” at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City in light of the recent bombings in Gaza. The speakers in the panel included Mrs. Salwa Kader, UFMEP President, Ms. Sarah L. Whitson, Executive Director of the Middle East and North Africa division of Human Rights Watch, Stephen Shalom, Political Science professor at William Peterson University, Andrew Whitley, Director of the Representative Office of UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, and Ambassador Richard W. Murphy, Chairman of UNRWA. Ms. Olivia Tecosky of United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs also gave the latest update of the Gaza situation on the ground.
