The United Federation for Peacekeeping and Sustainable Development (USFMEP) was delighted to take part in the closing ceremony of the UN Secretary-General’s Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation.
This event featured Ms. Uschi Eid, the Chair of (UNSGAB), His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and various other UN representatives. The closing ceremony included a discussion on improving sanitation and access to safe drinking water to various impoverished communities around the world.
The global water crisis is urgent, considering that an estimated 1.8 billion people will live in countries suffering from water scarcity by 2025. The USFMEP strongly supports UNSGAB’s initiative to improve the sanitation and access to safe drinking water, as water security is crucial for sustainable development in the future.
