The International Federation for Peace & Sustainable Development (IFPSD), working towards the empowerment of women and girls, hosted the event, during the CSW63, “Mentoring and Inspiring Women to be Future Leaders” at the UNHQ. President Sally Kader joined forces together with distinguished speakers from Delta Zeta Alumni who have become successful businesswomen and leaders in their field. The event included high-level participation and collaboration through dialogue that focused on the challenges faced by women in the workforce and highlighted their achievements and recommendations that can help lead to a productive work environment that is conducive to sustainable development. The panel highlighted the opportunities for girls when we share our capital. As educated women, we have opportunity, but also responsibilities to support, guide, and empower all women.
The event commenced with a lively discussion by distinguished Ambassadors from the Permanent Missions of Zambia, Tanzania, and Guatemala to the United Nations. Each ambassador delivered their remarks sharing their expertise undertaken by their respectful countries to empower women and girls to be future leaders. Jenni Luke, CEO of Step Up, enlightened the panel on the ways we can empower women and girls through social capital. She connected the growth is produced from empowering girls to be successful leaders and for those girls entering into their own paths of success, as a reciprocal benefit.
As one of IFPSD’s Core Pillars, Women and Girls Empowerment is dear to President Kader’s heart and her commitment echoed in the event. As an organization deeply committed to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, IFPSD was honored to host distinguished guests of ambassadors and successful leaders that discussed way that will support, guide, and empower women and girls all over to be leaders.
The IFPSD, is in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN-ECOSOC), and is associated with Department of Public information (UN-DPI) also associated with the UN Department of Political Affairs (UNDPA) and accredited with the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). It is represented across 5 continents and 17 countries. In addition to women and girl empowerment, IFPSD is also committed to human rights, interfaith dialogue, cultural heritage, health and well-being, Youth Empowerment and as a part of its efforts to reach the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
